Rodney Baker-Bates – Non-executive Chairman

Rodney is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers, and Institute of Management Consultants. A former Chief Executive of Prudential Financial Services, he previously worked in senior roles at the BBC, Midland Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank. Rodney is also Deputy Chairman of Co-operative Financial Services, Chairman of Stobart Group plc and holds a number of Non-executive roles including, Royal Pension Fund for Nurses and Bedlam Investment Management.

Elizabeth Gooch – Chief Executive Officer

Elizabeth Gooch started her career in the 1980s as an in-house consultant at Forward Trust, a subsidiary of Midland Bank. She then moved to Birmingham Midshires before establishing eg in 1988.

After working for some Manufacturers, Elizabeth introduced their proactive management of processing and operations into the back offices of financial services businesses. Based on this experience, Elizabeth designed and launched the eg operational intelligence® software suite.

Today, having successfully implemented eg’s Operational Management solutions in large financial services companies such as HBOS, Aviva and Scottish Equitable, Elizabeth stands out as one of Staffordshire’s rare IT entrepreneurs and was recognised as the seventh leading female entrepreneur in Management Today’s top 100 entrepreneurs 2006 and 2007.

Phil Lee – Non-Executive Director

Phil Lee has been a Board Director of Co-operative Financial Services, with responsibility for Integration and Change, following the merger with Britannia Building Society in August 2009.  He joined Britannia Building Society as Group Finance Director in 2002 until his appointment in January 2008 as Managing Director Britannia Capital Investment Group.

Other senior positions held by Phil are Finance Director, West Bromwich Building Society, Head of Finance, Bristol & West plc (formerly Bristol & West Building Society) and Head of Finance, Somerfield plc.

A chartered accountant, Phil qualified in 1983 with Ernst & Young where he worked in London and Bristol.  Prior to joining Ernst & Young in 1981, he worked in the National Audit Office (1978-1981) having worked for Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council (1975-1978).  He is a maths graduate from Imperial College London.

Phil is a non-executive Director of the Company and has Board Finance responsibility.
