eg solutions plc (eg) – the operations management software applications vendor – has been selected as a finalist in the ‘Best Added Value Project Category’ of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Excellence Awards.
The ICT Excellence Awards were originally designed to recognise and showcase the talents of West Midlands ICT businesses. Now in their fifth year the Awards are open to organisations both within and outside the West Midlands.
eg submitted a nomination based on a recent implementation of its software within Birmingham-based mutual, Wesleyan Assurance Society. The project involved the support of an internal initiative to deliver an improved and differentiated customer service.
Wesleyan decided to introduce the end-to end-process, quality measurement and reporting functionality within eg’s software across the Customer Services department. This information can now be used by the business to make fact-based decisions and operational improvements which have a direct impact on the bottom line. The project had a significant cultural impact on the way performance is reported and customer service is delivered within Wesleyan and productivity has improved.
Tim Becker, Client Engagement Manager, said: “We are pleased that eg has been able to support Wesleyan’s customer vision of ‘Delivering the Promise’ and that the project’s success has been recognised by the ICT. Our strong working partnership has ensured that eg’s software solutions provide a truly customer centric approach to operations management that has already started to deliver great feedback for Wesleyan and added value for their customers.”
Mike Musson, ICT Cluster Manager, added: “This year we’ve seen the highest standard of award entries yet and competition has been incredibly tough. The ongoing judging process has been rigorous and the panel faces a major challenge deciding the final winners. It’s fantastic to see the quality and diversity of technology companies the West Midlands region has to offer.”
eg previously won the ICT Cluster Award for ‘Most Value Added Private Sector Project’ in 2006. The winners for 2009 will be announced at an evening ceremony on 10 November at the National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull.
