eg solutions plc, the IT software and services company, celebrates its 20th birthday today (15 January 2008). 1n 1988 Elizabeth Gooch, Chief Executive Officer, started the company from home to provide Operations Management solutions to service sector companies. To win business alongside the big consultancies and IT companies, eg offered a return on investment guarantee. The company was one of the first to offer its clients payment by results and has successfully continued this throughout its history.
eg now boasts more than 50 Blue Chip financial sector companies among its client portfolio, including Co-operative Financial Services, Scottish Equitable plc, West Bromwich Building Society, Nationwide, Norwich Union and Standard Bank (South Africa).
Following flotation on AIM in June 2005, the company set out to demonstrate the applicability of its solutions in other markets and territories throughout the world. To date, eg has set up a subsidiary company in South Africa and has achieved sales in South Africa, The Netherlands, India, Hong Kong and Dubai.
In 2007 eg released an enhanced version of its proprietary Operations Management Information (MI) software – the eg operational intelligence® suite – which delivers rapid performance improvements in Customer Service Operations allowing for consistency in work, resource and performance management. eg operational intelligence® now supports eg’s vision for global/virtual Operations Management and provides the capability to manage operational performance from anywhere in the world.
